| We are pleased to share a recent major project successfully completed by our Conventus member, Express Global Logistics, together with its group company Megaload. The project involved a complex heavy-lift load-out and offshore installation campaign for a major liquid cargo berth extension, covering 18 heavy-lift structures ranging from 45 MT to nearly 700 MT. To manage the demanding operations, Express Global Logistics and Megaload deployed 48 SPMT axle lines, specialized barges and marine tugs. Each structure required detailed engineering, including transport calculations, ballast planning, sea-fastening studies and stability assessments. One of the key highlights was the installation of a 466 MT trestle structure. Using an Alternate Lifting Strand Jack System, the structure was lifted by 6 metres for load-out and later raised a further approximately 8 metres offshore before being accurately positioned onto the pre-installed pile caps. With challenging offshore conditions, tidal windows and strict weather limitations, the successful completion of the campaign required precise planning, real-time monitoring and close coordination between the marine, lifting, engineering and offshore teams. A strong example of the technical expertise and careful execution required to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects safely and efficiently. |
